Mokume Rings

Technique:  Mokume Gane
Also known as wood grain metal, mokume gane was perfected by the Japanese during the creation of Damascus Steel knives.  The technique can be used with 2 or 3 different types of metals, looking original and unique in every combination.

Click on any photo to see an enlargement of it in a seperate window.  There are several techniques at work here, and different types of metal in use, as well as additional variations in patterns.  Enjoy your exploration into the world of mokume.  We will do our best to get you familiar with its possibilities!
