Stone's art work is an original and innovative use of glass in jewelry. You see, Stone's work is constructed with glass and metals, and the glass is used in ways
that only metals have been used before.
In his necklaces, the glass serves as a link as much as the metal; and on his rings, the hand blown and flame shaped glass cabochons are a small world of imagination that will withstand everyday wear. The blown and lamp worked glass combined with silver and gold creates a fun mix of color and metal, and hierloom quality jewelry.
Stone's pieces attract great interest and are often the subject of friendly inquisitions. Each glass cabishon, link or earring is lampworked in a glass flame to gain
its color patterns and shape. The glass used is an exceptionally strong and durable form of glass known as borosilicate or pyrex glass. All
other lamp work glass jewelry is made with Morretti or soft glass. Borosilicate's strength is what allows it to be used so freely and in such new ways, and the companies (see links
page) that offer this type of glass are now doing so in many brilliant colors... so the possibilities are becoming even more interesting. To date the most exotic color we have created has to be the glow in the
dark moonstone, and truly the pallette is limitless; every design you see shown here can be reproduced in a thousand colors. The metalwork often cuts away to reveal the glass underneath as pictured above in the
FlameBezel Dancer Bracelet. Stone's artwork is highly figurative and expresses a special love and passion for music and the mountains!
